the game

Welcome to the birthday bash! We are going turn this arcade into a bit of a challenge. You are going to be placed into teams of 4-5 people where you will be earning points for your team by challenging players from opposing teams.

When you challenge someone, they get to pick the game to play! You'll have to use your intuition to pick opponents you believe you can beat in potentially any game in the arcade.

The winner of a challenge gets 3 points they can give to their team, deduct from other team(s), or a combination of both!

We will keep the team scores hidden until the timer runs out allowing for all kinds of scheming

Rules explained

Challenging someone

Player A approaches and challenges player B; the following commences:

• Player B then chooses one of the games in the arcade that:
  • Is reasonably available (not a long queue of other players waiting)
  • Has clear win conditions
• Each player pays for the game from their own tokens
• Player B does not necessarily have to pick a 2 player game;
  • But the win condition has to be agreed upon beforehand i.e. whomever scores the most, finishes in the least amount of time, gets the furthest etc
• Once the game is complete and a winner is crowned both players approaches the game master and declares the results

No challenge may end up in a draw - and the players are asked to resolve it with a single round of rock, paper, scissors (do a test round so you both agree on rhythm and counting).

Scoring

Each game will give you 3 points to distribute as points for your own team or deduct from other teams scores. As the scores will be kept hidden until the end of the games your team is in a position to strategise and hedge your bets.

You could: - Award your own team all 3 points - Give your team 1-3 points and reduce the of opposing team(s) with the remaining points - Distribute all 3 points as negative points to opposing team(s)

Bonus achievement

Whomever has the highest score on the Stranger Things pinball machine by the end of the games receives 6 extra points for their team.

To be able to qualify for the high score either:

• Have someone filming as you receive your score so it can be verified
• Sign up to stern pinball and scan your user as you play the game and show us the score right after you completed the game
